NT Book Awards 2026
Since 2009, the NT Book Awards have been the premier prize for Northern Territory authors, celebrating excellence and originality in NT writing.
Rooted firmly in the peoples and places of the Northern Territory but reaching far beyond, the NT Book Awards recognise writers that reflect the immense richness and importance of the stories, cultures, and histories of the NT.
The Awards honours the best books published in 2024 and 2025 from NT authors in the following categories: FICTION, NON-FICTION, CHILDREN’S | YOUNG ADULT.
The FICTION short list is:
- Moonlight and Dust by Jasmin McGaughey (Allen & Unwin)
- A Piece of Red Cloth by Leonie Norrington, Djawundil Maymuru, Merrkiyawuy Ganambarr-Stubbs and Djawa Burarrwanga (Allen & Unwin) *
